BIA Panel – What Does Brexit Mean for Biotechnology in the UK and Beyond?

Tuesday 20 June, 3pm – 4pm

Following the result of the EU referendum, BIA has worked closely with its members and stakeholders to identify the threats and opportunities for biotech post-Brexit and to represent the sector. They are leading bioscience industry engagement on Brexit with the UK government and, ultimately, their goal is to create a world-leading and globally competitive life sciences environment in the UK, outside of EU membership.

Moderated by BIA CEO, Steve Bates, the session will highlight development of UK policy post-Brexit and how it will affect UK and international companies alike.

MedCity Speaking – Are We Ready for Clinical Trials to Go Digital?

Wednesday 21 June, 4:15pm – 5:15pm

Imagine being able to follow the reactions of a patient in a non-invasive way to a new drug, in real time. All of this is possible – monitoring efficacy and compliance, getting immediate warning of any adverse reactions and gathering valuable data for future development studies – via digital health wearables such as Apple Watches and other devices.

Jessie Juusola of Evidation Health will be moderating this session, and will be joined by myself, Krystyna Zaluski of Cambridge Cognition, and others; covering the kind of trials possible, overall benefits, possible barriers, regulatory frameworks required and potential cost-savings.
